Hi Annie, I just read this. (How did I miss it?) I'm going to stay active on my personal IG page, but my author IG page is static - most of my readers are on FB or (increasingly) here. The 9 grid static page sounds like the perfect solution.
Oooh, I really like the idea of a static IG page! And I liked the featured photos on Platonic Love as well. That's a branded look I wouldn't mind incorporating.
It’s so great hey? I’m in love with my Static Page. I think of it as a ‘Store Closed’ sign. Like if I had a trad deal I might open it up again, post a few things during the release period but then close shop up again. Who knows. But I’m loving not being on Instagram. There’s room to think!
Can you provide other examples of this grid besides yours? You had mentioned what to do for authors and I was wondering if you've seen authors do it this way.
I will deliberately go in and share our WBB podcast episodes to stories when they drop but that’s about it. Some people who use this strategy still post to stories and make reels daily and end up with a decent reach. Others just pay for ads. I don’t feel pressure either way anymore.

Super grateful to you Annie! 💜
You’re so welcome!
If it weren't for Annie, Lilly would still be in the corner, rocking in the foetal position, singing 'Cheri Cheri Lady.' Mwah. 'On ya Annie!'
So glad she’s out in the world now Sylvia!
Fantastic idea re the static grid! And best of luck for your WIPs – writing AND tank top! xx
Thank you Kim!! It’s all a lesson in surrendering to the process and enjoying the journey, hey 😉
Recommit is such a great word and thanks for all these fab recs! x
Thanks for sharing!
So interesting! Do you post to stories instead? Or are you just off completely?
